Inspection

Welcome to our help section for the Statutory Inspection of Anglican Schools (SIAS)

Shortly after their Ofsted Inspection, all Church Schools have another inspection under the SIAS framework (Section 48). Each school's self-evaluation is verified by this process and judges how well the school's distinctive Christian character and values ensure the development and achievement of the whole child or young person.

Four questions are addressed during the inspection process:

1. How well does the school, through its distinctive Christian character, meet the needs of all leaners?

2. What is the impact of Collective Worship?

3. How effective is religious education? (Aided schools only)

4. How effective are the leadership and management of the school, as a Church school?

A range of support material to guide schools through the SIAS process and to help come to a judgement about each of the above questions is available below.
